Terms of Service
Cardboard Party (“Cardboard Party”, “we”, “us”) is a free tool for organizing Swiss-system tournaments and leagues for trading-card-game events. By using the website at cardboardparty.gg or the Cardboard Party Discord bot (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
Who can use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and old enough to use Google and Discord under their terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization or community, you represent that you’re authorized to do so.
Your account
You sign in with Google or Discord. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google or Discord account secure. We don’t store your password — sign-in is handled by Google or Discord.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe others’ rights while using the Service;
- harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other people;
- submit false results, manipulate standings, or otherwise disrupt events;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you’re not authorized to;
- scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
- upload content that is unlawful, hateful, or infringing.
Content you provide
You may add content such as your display name, profile details, avatar, and—if you’re an organizer—event names, descriptions, schedules, and player rosters. You keep ownership of your content, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to store and display it as needed to operate the Service. You’re responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to share it. Much of this content (event pages, standings, player names, and avatars) is publicly visible — see the Privacy Policy.
Events, entry fees, and prizes
Events are created and run by organizers, not by Cardboard Party. Any entry fees, payment links, prizes, schedules, and rules are set by the organizer. Cardboard Party does not process payments — payment links point to third-party services chosen by the organizer. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, arrangements, payments, or disputes between organizers and players.
Discord bot
If you use the Cardboard Party Discord bot, your use is also subject to Discord’s Terms of Service. The bot may send you direct messages about your events (for example, your pairings each round). You can opt out of event invitations at any time using the “Don’t invite me” button on an invitation.
Availability and “as is”
The Service is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cardboard Party and its creator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, prizes, or fees, arising from your use of the Service. The Service is a free, community-run tool.
Suspension and termination
We may remove content or suspend or terminate access to the Service if we believe these Terms have been violated or to protect the Service or its users. You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account (see the Privacy Policy).
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the courts located in California.
